Club History

The South East Giants Junior Football Club was created to cater for an increasing population and improved sporting hub infrastructure in the South-eastern region. The Sorell and Dodges Ferry Junior Football Clubs agreed in principle to consolidate resources and play under the South East Junior Football Club banner from 2021. The Richmond and Triabunna Junior Clubs were also approached to join. All clubs had been trying to attract players from similar areas to field sides. The new club, which incorporates the greater Southeast Region from Triabunna to Tasman Peninsula, through to the Coal River Valley, chose the GIANTS brand, which reflects the giant region the new club will service. The new entity created a robust, viable and sustainable club, making better use of available resources and continues to play a significant role in increasing participation in several regional communities throughout the area.
